When a school run taxi helps
Most families manage the school run themselves most of the time. The trouble starts when two children go to different schools, when a parent starts an early shift, or when the walk up Gipsy Hill in the rain with a toddler in tow becomes too much. A regular booked car can take one part of the day off your plate, whether that is every morning, two afternoons a week or just the days you have meetings.
We also help with one-off trips: a school trip that leaves before the buses run, a hospital appointment in the middle of the school day, or getting a child home when they are unwell.
How regular school runs work
- Tell us the pattern. Which days, which times, the home address and the school, plus any after-school club finish times.
- Agree a fixed fare. We quote a set price per journey so you know what each week will cost.
- Share the details that matter. The child's name, who is allowed to hand over and collect, and any seating needs.
- Keep in touch. Let us know about inset days, holidays and changes as early as you can so the booking stays right.
Safety and child seats
Children's safety is the first question every parent asks, so here is how we approach it. All our drivers are licensed by Transport for London for private hire work, which involves background checks. Child seats and booster seats are available on request, so please tell us the age and size of each child when you book. We ask parents to be clear about who the driver may hand a child to at school and at home, and we will not change that without hearing it from you directly.

Local schools we are asked about
Families in SE19 and SE27 send their children to a wide range of schools, including primaries around Gipsy Hill and West Norwood and secondaries across Dulwich, Crystal Palace and Streatham. Journeys to schools on the Dulwich side, such as those along College Road, can involve narrow roads and heavy drop-off traffic, so we allow extra time in the mornings. Tell us the school and we will plan the timing around its start and finish.
Journeys between Gipsy Hill and nearby areas
Many school journeys cross local boundaries: a child living in West Norwood might go to school in Upper Norwood, or a family in Crystal Palace might use a school in Dulwich. We cover all these short trips. For larger families or several children from friends' houses sharing a car, our 6 seater taxi can help, as long as each child has the right seat.
Holidays and one-off journeys
School runs stop in the holidays, but journeys do not. We take families to the airport for half-term breaks, on a Gatwick taxi from Gipsy Hill or elsewhere, and to stations for trips to see grandparents. You can see all our other minicab services on the services page.

Yes. You can book any pattern that suits you, such as every Monday and Wednesday, or only afternoons.
Do you provide child seats for the school run?
Child seats and boosters are available on request. Tell us each child's age when booking so we can send the right seats.
What happens on inset days and school holidays?
Please let us know as early as possible so we can pause or change your bookings. We will confirm the changes with you.
Can the same driver do the school run each day?
We try to keep things consistent, but we cannot always promise the same driver. Ask us when you book and we will do what we can.
Can a school run taxi pick up from an after-school club?
Yes. Give us the club's finish time and address and we will add it to the booking.
